Bob's Red Mill
Bob's Story
Bob and Charlee met on a blind date in 1952. Twenty-six years later they founded Bob’s Red Mill together as a labor of love. It was Charlee who first inspired the couple’s whole grain adventure when, in early 1960s, she decided to create a healthier life for her family by feeding them wholesome, natural foods—fruits, vegetables, beans, and whole grains.
Charlee was a fixture in the original Bob’s Red Mill store, which quickly gained a loyal following in the local community. She took on many roles in the early days, including packaging products by hand. To this day, Bob still loves to spend time at the Whole Grain store. You can often find him there, chatting with shoppers or enjoying a healthy breakfast, as he continues to carry on their shared passion for whole grains.
