Shea (Vitellaria paradoxa) butter is extracted from the shea nut of the shea tree, which is indigenous to Africa. It take several years for the tree to produce fruit but, once it does, it can continue doing so for up to 200 years.

Aura Cacia Fair Trade Organic Shea Butter comes from a women’s cooperative in Ghana where the butter is sometimes called ‘women’s gold’ because producing it provides a significant source of income for many West African women.

Recipe: Warming Massage Balm   
Ingredients: 
5 drops Aura Cacia Juniper Berry Essential Oil
4 drops Aura Cacia Balsam Fir Needle Essential Oil
3 drops Aura Cacia Nutmeg Essential Oil
1 ounce Aura Cacia Fair Trade Organic Shea Butter
1 teaspoon Aura Cacia Organic Sweet Almond Oil 

Directions:

1.     In a small pan over low heat, warm shea butter and sweet almond oil until just melted.

2.     Remove from heat, allow to cool slightly, then add essential oils.

3.     Allow to cool and set completely, then apply 1 tablespoon at a time during massage.
